1. What is Honor Flight?

   - Honor Flight is a non-profit organization that transports veterans to Washington, D.C., to visit the memorials dedicated to their service and sacrifices.

 

2. Who is eligible to participate in Honor Flight?

   - Honor Flight is for veterans who served during any era who were honorably discharged. 

 

3. How can a veteran apply for an Honor Flight?

   - Veterans can apply by filling out an application form on our website.

 

4. Is there a cost for veterans to participate?

   - No, the trip is provided at no cost to the veterans, thanks to donations and sponsorships.

 

5. What is the role of guardians on the Honor Flight?

   - Guardians accompany veterans on the trip, providing assistance and support to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience. Guardian fee is $500.

 

6. What does an Honor Flight trip typically include?

   - The trip includes a pre-flight dinner, transportation, meals, guided tours of memorials, and a welcome home ceremony.

 

7. How are the flights organized?

   - Each local Honor Flight hub organizes its flights, coordinating with veterans, guardians, and transportation providers.

 

8. What should veterans bring on the trip?

   - Veterans are encouraged to wear comfortable clothing, bring any necessary medications for 2 days, and wear their honor flight shirt.

 

9. How can I support Honor Flight?

   - You can support Honor Flight through donations, volunteering or helping to raise awareness about the program.

 

10. Are family members allowed to join the veterans on the flight?

    - We encourage the guardian to be a family member or close friend of the Veteran. Guardians should be between the ages of 18 and 65, able to push a wheelchair all day and pay the guardian fee of $500. Unfortunately, Spouses or significant others are not allowed due to Honor Flight Hub rules.

We can pair a Veteran with a volunteer guardian if the Veteran needs one.

 

Families are encouraged to come to the welcome home!
